If you are playing the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft, you will know that the game is 720p both docked and undocked. This is an issue that Microsoft hopes to fix in the future.
Usually when you play a Nintendo Switch game undocked, it should bump up to 1080p while the handhold mode is 720p. Well in Minecraft the game is always 720p. Microsoft notes that this is a technical issue and it doesn’t have to do with the Switch’s lack of power.
Microsoft confirmed with TIME: “Microsoft notes that Minecraft’s 720p docked/undocked resolution isn’t a question of system power, but stems from issues currently experienced shifting from one resolution to the other when docking/undocking”
There is a chance the Switch version of the game could hit 1080p in the future, so don’t worry if you own the game. An update is sure to be implemented in the near future for it.
