The first gameplay video has been revealed for the Phantom Dust HD Remaster that will be out later this year for the Xbox One and PC platforms. What does this 2003 game now look like in 2017?
The new gameplay was revealed exclusively by Polygon. The website posted over 19 minutes of gameplay footage. They also got to interview Adam Isgreen who is the creative director for Phantom Dust HD Remaster.
Anyway, this remaster runs at 30fps and this is because the game engine was built specifically for 30fps. It is a massive improvement over the original game that came out on Xbox though.
They have also used the original assets of the game. They said they wanted to capture and preserve the look of the original game. This is why they didn’t build the game from the ground up. Isgreen admits the game is from 2003, and people should look forward to the gameplay more than the graphics.
There’s still no release date, but Isgreen says that it will be priced accordingly. This might mean it won’t cost the full price of $59.99 so it should be cheaper than that when it comes out.
