A movie is currently being planned based on the popular Gears of War gaming franchise. Universal Pictures has chosen Shane Salerno to write the script for the movie.
This report comes courtesy of Deadline. Universal and Microsoft are both working on getting the movie off the ground. Shane Salerno is also helping to write Avatar 2 and all of its other sequels.
The story is not going to be based on the video games as it will have an original narrative. It will be interesting to see if Salerno is the right man of the job. His previous work includes Ghost Rider and even Alien vs. Predator: Requiem.
There’s still no release dare for the Gears of War movie. Hopefully they are able to make it good as we have still yet to receive a decent video game movie. Every major effort has failed to impress so far.
