It appears Nintendo is doing very well with its Nintendo Switch console. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe reached to the top of the video game charts in the UK.
As reported by Game Industry, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe raced to the top of the All Formats chart over in the UK. It’s the first retail Nintendo game to be on top since the 2011 release of Pokémon White on Nintendo DS. Furthermore, it’s actually the first Mario game to get the top spot in the UK since Mario Kart Wii in 2008.
Thanks to Mario, a resurgence of Nintendo Switch consoles were bought. Due to this, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild re-entered the charts at number 5. The other new releases included Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 and Little Nightmares debuting at number 2 and 4 respectively.
This proves to us that the Nintendo Switch is a popular console and is far surpassing the Wii U. This is a good sign for the company going forward as more Switch games are to be released in 2017.
