Sony has announced that the highly anticipated PS4 system update 4.50 will be released tomorrow. The update includes a lot of neat and new features.
The update’s biggest feature is that you can now add an external hard drive to the PS4 for more memory storage. A USB 3.0 HDD will work on the console. You can format it under the USB Storage Devices’ from ‘Devices’ in the settings menu.
Hard drive sizes of 250GB to 8TB are supported. Sizes that are lower or higher than this will not work. As long as the external hard drive is plugged in, it will act as the default storage method.
Another cool new feature is that you can watch 3D Blu-ray movies using PlayStation VR. Since many TV manufacturers aren’t making 3DTVs anymore, PlayStation VR might be the only way you can view them now.
Custom wallpaper is also going to be added so you can personalize how you want your console to look like. There will also be a Boost Mode for PS4 Pro owners to increase performance for games.
