The Nintendo Switch is selling at a very fast rate that Gamestop reckons it could eventually outsell the Wii console. It would be amazing if this were to happen.
GameStop’s Eric Bright spoke to Game Rant and he compared the sales rate between the Nintendo Switch and Wii. He feels the former will eventually get better sales in the long run.
He said: “The Nintendo Switch is off to a start right now that it could possibly eclipse the Wii. Initial sales on this have been phenomenal. I can’t give straight numbers, but I can say we’re seeing one of the highest attach rates of software and accessories to a device that we’ve seen in a long time”
The Wii eventually went on to sell over 100 million units. It’s possible the Switch could reach similar numbers due to the portability factor of it. Nintendo has made it clear it’s not competing with Sony and Microsoft when it comes to power.
