Not much is known about the Xbox Scorpio other than it will be out later this year and serves as an upgrade to the existing Xbox One console. Gamestop is impressed with what it has seen so far though.
As transcribed by Seeking Alpha, GameStop COO Tony Bartel had nothing but kind words to say about the Xbox Scorpio during the company’s most recent financial briefings call.
Bartel said: “Unfortunately we can’t talk about a lot other than what’s known what is in public is — they are a very powerful system that’s really made for 4K and we see it has a very gaming centric, very, very powerful unit and so we do believe that there will be a significant some great games that are made for this and we do believe that game stuff is poised significantly over shared in this launch when it happens.”
The Xbox Scorpio is supposed to be like Sony’s PS4 Pro although slightly more powerful. It’s not a replacement for the Xbox One, it just serves as a more powerful version. Both Scorpio and Xbox One will continue to co-exist in the market and have the same games.
