To help gamers prepare for the upcoming release of Tekken 7 later this year, Microsoft has announced that Tekken 7 is now Xbox One backwards compatible.
Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb announced on Twitter: “TEKKEN 6, Midway Arcade Origins and Mutant Storm Empire are coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today ”
It’s worth noting that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is also backwards compatible on Xbox One. You can play both games before Tekken 7 comes out later this year.
There’s still no release date for Tekken 7, but a release date is expected to be announced sometime next week. Bandai Namco still says the game will be released in the earlier part of 2017. This should mean we should see the game before June 2017 at least.
If you own Tekken 6, you can now just pop the disc into your Xbox One and it will play. If you own the digital copy, you should see it in your downloads list. The same can be said for the two other games.
