Resident Evil 7 proves to be a big success for Capcom as the game easily was the best selling game in the UK. This is a good sign for the series going forward in the future.
GFK Chart-Track notes that Resident Evil 7 had the third biggest UK week 1 launch of the series. It didn’t get as many copies as Resident Evil 5’s launch back in 2009 though.
In terms of other new releases, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter debuted at number 3 in the chart just below Grand Theft Auto V at number 2.
Yakuza 0 was the next best selling new release at number 8 while Tales of Berseria placed at number 14. Capping off the new releases is another Bandai Namco game with Digimon World: Next Order at number 24.
Resident Evil 7 is likely to still be the best selling game until maybe Nioh comes out in February. Later in February sees the release of Halo Wars 2, For Honor and more.
