Microsoft continues to tease its imminent release of the Xbox Scorpio console as Phil Spencer has play tested some games on the system already. Things appear to be looking good so far.
Spencer said the following on Twitter: “Great day, Scorpio update w/ team. Played my first games on early Scorpio unit. Games played great, console looked right, proud of the team”
This is good progress as it sounds like the Xbox Scorpio right now is in a playable state. This means Microsoft shouldn’t have any problems shipping out the console later this year.
Microsoft has yet to announce a release date for the console, but it will be out in late 2017. It won’t be replacing the Xbox One console as it serves as a mid-generation upgrade much like Sony’s PS4 Pro.
We may hear or see the Scorpio at E3 2017, although Microsoft has yet to confirm when they will reveal the console to the public. Judging by this tweet, we could know of more details sooner rather than later.
