Even though third party support for the Nintendo Switch is supposed to be stronger than the Wii U, it’s unlikely that Gearbox Software will be releasing Borderlands 3 onto the platform.
A fan asked Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford on Twitter if Borderlands 3 would be released for the Nintendo Switch. Pitchford’s answer was not a promising one.
He said: “I do not see that as happening. We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities.”
Back at PAX East 2016, Gearbox Software did announce that they are developing Borderlands 3 at the moment. Not much news has been released about the game since then, but it’s likely the game is only coming out for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Hopefully Nintendo changes its mind as the Borderlands series is really popular. Not to mention the cel-shaded graphics shouldn’t be too hard for the Switch to handle.
