It looks like the Call of Duty franchise is finally seeing signs of franchise fatigue. Infinite Warfare is not performing as well as Black Op 3 did last year.
CNBC reports that Infinite Warfare sales are down 50 percent compared to Black Ops 3 last year. It’s worth mentioning they are using data from NPD which tracks retail sales only. Still, it’s a huge decline as not everyone buys video games digitally anyway.
The same decline was reported over in the UK too. Infinite Warfare is the weakest selling Call of Duty game in many years. The franchise exploded in 2007 with the release of the first Modern Warfare video game. However, Activision kind of made the series dry by releasing a game every year.
