Sports games are released every year and some of them always feel the same. EA Sports UFC 2 however felt fresh and exciting and is a huge improvement over the first game.
Developed by the same people that made the Fight Night boxing games, EA Sports UFC 2 is a great spiritual successor. Sure boxing and MMA are completely different sports, but both franchises offer deep and exciting gameplay along with realistic visuals.
The thing that makes the game great is that you can choose to play how you want. You can choose to be a striker, or you can become a submission specialist. They improved the gameplay mechanics in order to accommodate for the many different styles that are on offer in the sport of MMA.
Another great feature of the game is the fact that there are over 250 fighters for you to choose from. This includes the likes of Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey to even someone like CM Punk. Not to mention EA did the kind thing and has offered more fighters as DLC for free. Yes, you don’t have to pay for extra fighters in this game!
The new KO mode that is added makes the game fun for casual gamers. This is kind of like the game’s own version of Tekken as each fighter as a lifebar. It’s a nice change of pace compared to the main style of gameplay that can be time consuming for some people.
These are just some of the reasons why EA Sports UFC 2 is our favorite sports game of 2016.
