Delaying Gran Turismo Sport until 2017 might have been a good thing in the end. The game will be optimized for both the PS4 Pro and PlayStation VR devices like never before.
Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi talked more about Gran Turismo Sport via the PlayStation Blog. The game will offer 4K at 60 FPS and Yamauchi is proud to achieve this benchmark.
He said: “I think the world of 4K and 60 FPS is a pinnacle for the games industry, and to be able to provide that sort of quality on a home console is something special. All the cars look fantastic in 4K in terms of the detail improvements, but if you look at it from the aspect of HDR and wide color, about 11% of the cars in the real world today don’t fit into the standard color space that was possible in games up until now“.
PlayStation VR is also something that Polyphony Digital has worked on for quite some time. He didn’t want to say much about VR, but you can get to explore the tracks and cars.
He said: “The raw, live feel that you get when you sit in the cockpit of a car using PS VR is something that wasn’t possible in GT before. The tracks are very interesting in VR. But we’re letting you explore the environments in virtual reality, such as the interior of cars. I think that kind of subtle usage is best for VR”
Gran Turismo Sport releases sometime next year and it’s exclusive for the PS4 console.
