Pikmin 3DS – Nintendo
Nintendo announced on Thursday, September 1 that Pikmin will make its portable debut on the Nintendo 3DS. The newly announced game, currently titled Pikmin for Nintendo 3DS, is a new side-scrolling Pikmin quest that is unlike any previous Pikmin game. While previous titles focused on problem solving and item collection, this new game has been designed as an action game and will make the player think fast to overcome challenging obstacles.
Pikmin for Nintendo 3DS may have an action focus, but the game retains some of the basic Pikmin game mechanics. The various types of Pikmin will follow Olimar around, and players will use the 3DS touch-screen throw the Pikmin at points of interest. With the game’s new focus of being an action game, players will now have to think on the fly and use their army of Pikmin to defeat foes and to complete the tasks the game puts forth.
There is still much to learn about this new Pikmin title, but the game is scheduled for release in 2017 for Nintendo 3DS.
