Version 0.13.0 of the Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta has just been released by Mojang.
The big part of the update adds in Redstone and a whole range of Redstone dependent features. Used as a form of power cabling, Redstone is used to create links between items such as buttons and levels to open and close doors. Players will now be able to craft “Redstone Wires, Redstone Torches, Lamps, Levers, Buttons, Pressure plates, Tripwires, Trapped Chests and Detector Rails.”
These features were all in the regular PC version of Minecraft but until now Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition players were unable to use them. Redstone isn’t the only new feature to make the 0.13.0 update! Here is the full changelog, as released by Mojang:

• Mobs no longer suffocate in carpets (because that was kinda cruel)
• Held items now look better in first-person mode
