Gaming forum NeoGAF had gamers exploding with excitement today when a verified industry insider revealed that Crackdown 3 is currently in development under codename “Nimbus”. The insider went on to state that the game is targeting a Q1 2016 release date, having already undergone 2.5 years of development before Microsoft stepped in and made a deal.
Ruffian Games is reportedly partnering with ex-Realtime Worlds employees on this massive project. Not much else is known at this time other than Cloudgine, a cloud-based gaming development company, is involved as well. Given that we’re so far out from the rumored release window, we shouldn’t expect to hear anything on the game’s existence for a while. If that ends up not being the case, we’ll be sure to update you with all the juicy details the minute they emerge.
