Sony Interactive Entertainment is pleased to reveal today that the PlayStation Plus Cloud Storage will be expanding to 100GB from its original 10GB storage space. The change will take effect sometime in early February and those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus will be able to store more game saves. With the Cloud Storage, players are able to save their progress and character profile on one PS4 system, and continue the game on another system later without losing progress.
In addition, Sony also announced the free games for the month of February which includes the following games:
PlayStation 4
- For Honor (Ubisoft)
- Gunhouse (Necrosoft Games)
- Hitman: The Complete First Season (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment)
- Rogue Aces (Curve Digital)
PlayStation 3
- Divekick (Iron Galaxy Studios)
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Konami)
PS Vita
- Divekick (Iron Galaxy Studios)
- Gunhouse (Necrosoft Games)
- Rogue Aces (Curve Digital)
Please note that after March 8, Sony will no longer be offering free games for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita platforms. Those who still have the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita can still download the games being offered for the month of February until March 8, while PlayStation 4 titles will be available until March 5.
From the list of games that are being offered, my main picks would be For Honor, and Hitman: The Complete First Season. I would also pick Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PlayStation 3 and Rogue Aces for the PS Vita. The free offering for the much of February is somewhat decent especially for those who have the PlayStation 4.
Currently, there’s no clear reason behind Sony pulling off the support of PS Plus free games for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Could it mean that PS5 is coming really soon and Sony is simply just preparing the PS Plus service for the PlayStation 5’s release?
Check back with us again at the end of February for our next update on the PlayStation Plus offerings for the month of March.
