More and more indies
The gaming market has proven that games don’t have to be developed by AAA-studios to be enjoyable. The smaller scale game studios have been a growing force in the industry, and while independently developed titles are getting more popular, Microsoft will showcase more partnerships with studios and developers of all sizes to expand their gaming portfolio. ID@XBOX has had its hiccups since the first unveiling, including a parity clause that prevented many games from launching on Xbox if they first came out on other platforms. With titles such as Shovel Knight, Microsoft has proven some leniency in its ways and could be on the way to opening its arms to other developers.
