In Bloodborne there are items called “Insights” that you have to collect in order to play with friends or at least get the “Resonating Bell” for you to join the host.
There are several different ways to collect Insights:
– You get +1 Insight when you see a boss for the first time.
– You get +1 Insight as a summoned player for helping others to defeat a boss in co-op.
– You get +1 Insight after using an item called a “Madman’s Knowledge Skull”.
– You get +3 Insight for killing the boss.
Think of the Insights as Humanity that you have to collect in Dark Souls 2. Please note that you need 10 Insights in order to get that Resonating Bell from the Messenger in the Hunter’s Dream World.

March 28, 2015 at 9:09 PMMinor correction, you don’t farm humanity in Dark Souls 2, you farm humanity in Dark Souls 1. In Dark Souls 2 you could farm for souls or Human Effigies. You could also get summoned to be turned human. You may be thinking of one of these.
