Fans have been clamoring for a Final Fantasy VII remake for years now. Since its initial reveal early in the Playstation 3 life with a tech demo of the Bombing Mission opening to VII, there has been rampant speculation about Square-Enix’s plans to give the game a full remake. Now, a user on YouTube by the name of TheJamster1992 has taken the mantle upon himself and remade Final Fantasy VII in a very.. unconventional manner.
Utilizing the tools developed by Media Molecule, Jamie Colliver crafted Final Fantasy VII not in blocks or voxels, but rather with bits and bobs strewn about the Little Big Planet universe. The Final Fantasy VII costume pack is a perfect fit, as it gives the player control of Cloud Strife in Sackboy form, adding a bit of authenticity to the recreation. You can check out the first video in a *107* video set showcasing the Final Fantasy VII/Little Big Planet 2 mashup below with a full playlist available.
Sony has announced that all previous levels made from the first two Little Big Planet titles will be playable in the third iteration, meaning those with a Playstation 4 can get their hands on a next-gen demake of the roleplaying classic.
