Team Ninja has announced that they will be bringing their Ultimate fighting game onto the next-gen consoles early next year. Dead or Alive 5 Last Round aims to be the truly definitive edition of Koei Tecmo’s fighting game.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will boast the largest roster of any previous DoA release. Previously that record was held with 5 Ultimate’s 29 fighters pre-DLC. With the Arcade release of Dead or Alive 5, that number grew with the addition of characters such as Marie Rose, Phase-4, and Nyotengu. Now, Last Round will feature the complete 32 character roster along with many new additional costumes and unlockables. In addition, the game has been confirmed to run at 1080p/60 frames a second on both next gen consoles.
Out of the gate, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will feature over 300 costumes on disc, with many being unlockable during play. All of the previously purchased DLC from Ultimate will carry over into the next gen version (strictly on the same Playstation or Xbox side), so it sounds like there will still be some paid DLC available on release.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will launch Spring of 2015 in North America at $29.99 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 (digital only), $39.99 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One (Physical and digital).
