October 7th has been a bit of a hole many releases have fallen into. Alien Isolation, Driveclub, both NBA titles, and previously Shadow of Mordor. The latest game set in Middle-Earth has narrowly avoided falling into the deluge of the other releases by doing something rare for games these days: by moving the release date forward.
The obviously Arkham inspired role-playing game sets players into the role of Talion/Celebrimbor, the former being a Ranger of Gondor and the latter a wraith joined together in the same body. As such, players are tasked with seeking vengeance for those that murdered Talion and his family.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will now launch on September 30th in North America across both Playstation platforms, both Xbox platforms, and PC.
