Destiny, the new massive scale shooter from Bungie, has been running a semi-closed beta over the past few days exclusively on Sony platforms. Now four days into the beta, Bungie has taken the game down for maintenance.
Part of an exclusive deal with Sony, the Destiny beta has launched first on both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 platforms on July 17th. This gave gamers a small slice of both the story content and PVP content, both fully playable either solo or with a small group of friends. Now four days into the test, Bungie has taken the beta offline for scheduled maintenance. It is unsure if this maintenance means new fixes Bungie has been working on since the beta’s release, but it does mean that this maintenance will signal the start of beta access for Microsoft platforms.
The scheduled maintenance for Destiny has been ongoing and will be returning on July 23rd, the same date that both Xbox 360 and Xbox One players can get their feet wet. Across all platforms, the Destiny beta will be going down on July 27th. Bungie has not stated if progress made in the beta will carry over into the full game, but they have said that there will be exclusive rewards for beta testers.
