E3 2014 is just a few days away, so now is the time to start thinking about what the future might hold and what games we are looking to learn more about. So we decided to come up with a list that may not be the most comprehensive one but it is one that has something for everyone.
Project Beast
Arguably one of the most talked about upcoming IP’s. Many see it as a mystery. The screens and short videos released make it out to be an adventure/RPG in vein of Demon’s Souls. It looks to have a hero that uses guns (yes guns) and an almost western feel to it (like cowboys western not game development western). So it is a very intriguing title indeed. We hope to hear more about this during E3.
Deep Down
Speaking of Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls-like games. A title that was revealed last year and we still haven’t heard much about is Deep Down. We would love to see or even hear more about this title. It looks darn awesome. For all we know, at this point it could be a next-gen sequel to Dragon’s Dogma. We would be cool with that.
Zelda Wii U
Everyone wants that new Zelda game and hopefully this will be the year they announce a true HD Zelda resembling the tech demo that they debut with the console.
Halo 5: Guardians
Seriously an awesome announcement when it happened. Now the wait is the hard part. Hopefully we will see new info, gameplay or something at Microsoft’s E3 2014 conference. What is with the two characters on the cover, will we be playing as someone other than Master Chief? Must. Know!
Star Wars Battlefront
It goes without staying that it is Star Wars so there is a certain amount of hype behind this anyways. The fact that DICE and EA are putting money behind this one and giving the fans what they wanted (a new Battlefront) is quite awesome. Now let’s hope everyone doesn’t end up disappointed when we do see more.
Homefront: Revolution
Look at that CGI trailer! Alright that’s really all we have to go on but let’s be honest. Crytek do amazing work and in recent years Deep Silver has gone above and beyond with Dead Island franchise and Saints Row to create a stable of high quality titles. Let’s hope Homefront is just what we were looking for in ways of a ‘revolution’. We must see more.
Mortal Kombat X
It’s Mortal Kombat, we all want to see this just to see the awesome fatalities let’s be blunt and honest about it. We want to see what will make this a next-gen game on the next-gen consoles. Hopefully we will at least get the answer to the question; “Who’s Next?”
Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare
One of the biggest yearly launches is Call of Duty and the team that worked on Modern Warfare 3 gets their own game to play with utilizing a great looking engine and an all-star voice cast. We have seen clips of gameplay here and there but no real mission playthroug’s yet. This will all end come E3 2014. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype.
Civilization: Beyond Earth
Civ. V fans will agree, this game is on your radar. Not just because you are tired of fighting Ghandi for world domination but because maybe there’s more out there to take over than just the world. The premise of Beyond Earth looks more like an offshoot of the Civilization series and that is fine. We want something new and unique. The question is will it be so unique that it alienates fans? I want to know more about this one for sure.
Tales From Borderlands
Telltale games has done amazing work with pre-existing IP’s but now they take on a pre-existing IP in video games to craft within that world. They have a lot to prove with this one so hopefully it will be something special.
What are you looking forward to? Stay tuned throughout E3 and the coming weeks after as we will continue to post our impressions and experiences from the show floor.
