Nintendo debuted the Virtual Console not long after the release of the Wii back in 2006 and has grown larger and larger over the years, including both first-party and third-party games. One series that has not made its way on there over the years has been Mortal Kombat, and according to Ed Boon, that is never going to happen.
When asked on Twitter if there was any chance of seeing the SNES versions of Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Mortal Kombat 3 on the Wii U Virtual Console, Boon had a very short response of “0.0%.” This is a little disappointing, but considering how many ports of the original games that we’ve gotten so far across multiple platforms, there are plenty of other methods to play it already.
