This news may be a little different than usual, as it’s actually some movie news rather than video games. However, it is about as relevant as any other news considering how much influence that various video games had on it. Wreck-It Ralph was a critically acclaimed movie that was adored by fans upon its release by Disney in 2012 as part of their recent animated renaissance with Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, and Frozen. Now, according to the film’s composer, Henry Jackman, a second film is currently being written.
Due to his work on the score for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Jackman was interviewed by Collider, in which he spoke about the in-progress sequel to Wreck-It Ralph.
I can’t tell you more, not because I’m being coy, but I believe that it is officially on the cards. I don’t know any more other than a story is indeed being written.
Taking video games and weaving them into an original story, Wreck-It Ralph is a fantastic movie that has a lot of potential for sequels thanks to the abundance of video game characters and tropes that could still be mixed in, including Mario. I personally know I can’t wait to see it when it comes out and I know that I am certainly not alone in that sentiment.
