AirMech has been in open beta for a little while on the PC, but it has now been announced that developer Carbon Games is bringing the game to consoles, specifically the Xbox 360, in a partnership with Ubisoft under the name AirMech Arena.
AirMech Arena gives you control of giant robots as you must fend off attacking forces from taking over bases while taking over bases of your own as well. James Green of Carbon Games had the following to say about the bringing of the game to Xbox 360:
As an indie developer, AirMech has been our passion for the past several years, and we are thrilled to partner with Ubisoft to bring the game to console. AirMech Arena was created from the ground up to be the ultimate RTS experience with a gamepad. The fast-paced action and depth of strategy brings console gamers a new experience we are confident they will enjoy.
If it is anything like past free-to-play games on the Xbox 360, you will still have to have an Xbox Live Gold membership to play. Look for AirMech Arena to debut on the Xbox 360 sometime this coming summer.
