I used this headset during some very long gaming sessions in the last week and did not notice any loss of audio other than when the battery in my Xbox One controller died, which is not to the fault of the headset. The quality of the sound from the headset itself never dipped while playing anything on my Xbox One, or even when using it through my computer, handheld gaming systems, or mobile devices, outside of when the actual audio being played dipped in quality of course.
The XO Seven is about as wireless as you can get without having to worry about battery life. By plugging directly into the Xbox One headset, you will always stay connected as long as the Xbox One controller is not turned off. By being built for the Xbox One, the number of cables included in the box is much lower than ones like the Ear Force Atlas, which require specific cords for the Xbox 360 and such.
The extremely useful Xbox One Audio Adapter is included in the box, so you will not have to worry about purchasing any other accessories to use it. By simply plugging in the headset breakaway cable into the cable already attached to the headset, and then plugging that into the Xbox One Audio Adapter, which is easily plugged into the controller, you are good to go. Similarly, to use the headset on anything with a 3.5 mm audio jack, all you have to do is attach the mobile adapter cable to the cable already attached to the headset and you are good to go.
By utilizing the Xbox One Audio Adapter, you have the ability to adjust your in-game sound in a few different ways. There is the basic mute or unmute button, with an orange light showing that you have it muted, which way too many headsets do not indicate. Of course, there is the option to turn the volume up or down with the two easily accessible buttons. Lastly, you have two buttons that adjust the balance between game and chat, to where you can choose which is the most prevalent sound in your headset.
When you first open try to use your headset, you will have to update your Xbox One controller, but this is a breeze. All you have to do is use the included USB cable and connect it to your Xbox One console, while also having the headset attached to the controller. Upon installing the quick update, you are able to start gaming instantly.
The boom mic that comes with the XO Seven is easily attachable and detachable, so you don’t have to worry about it being in the way if you are simply using the headset for audio. Unlike some other boom mics I’ve used on headsets in the past, this one is extremely flexible to where you can position it exactly the way you like it. This is very useful by being able to adjust it based on the level of volume in which you speak when using the headset.
As one of the first licensed headsets built exclusively for the Xbox One, the Turtle Beach Ear Force XO Seven Premium Xbox One Gaming Headset is of the utmost quality. I have never had a headset that featured this level of comfortability and was able to contour to my head so perfectly. After a while, I almost forgot that I was wearing the headset completely, which is quite the feat considering the size of it. If you are in the market for a new headset for the Xbox One and are not opposed to paying for quality, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the Turtle Beach Ear Force XO Seven Premium Gaming Headset.
