Ever since Super Smash Bros. was revealed as coming to both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, we’ve heard that the two versions would be both similar, but also different. The two versions will have the exact same character roster, but stages will greatly differ. Game modes will also be different, including the just announced Smash Run mode as a 3DS version exclusive.
This mode looks like it has taken some elements from Adventure Mode and Subspace Emissary in the past by having a large map with various enemies to fight. However, the major change is that instead of single player, up to four players will move around the large map and obtain power-ups by defeating the enemies during a set time limit. Once it is over, the four players who were competing will be taken to a stage, with the power-ups obtained, to fight, in more typical Super Smash Bros. fashion.
