To end last week’s updates for Super Smash Bros., Masahiro Sakurai revealed Isabella from Animal Crossing as a brand new Assist Trophy for the game. As a result, the last type of announcement I figured we would get tonight is another Assist Trophy, but I was certainly wrong.
This time however, we got an image of a returning Assist Trophy from Brawl with a Metroid.

Of course with the Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. scheduled for tomorrow and the timing of this reveal, many on the internet are convinced it is Sakurai teasing a Ridley reveal that so many want. However, I’m sure it’s just coincidence, but I guess we’ll see if tomorrow’s image has any ties to the Metroid series. Even if it does, we could just see the reveal of the return of Zero Suit Samus or something.
