After a very rough last year for Nintendo, the company really could use some good publicity to get the ball rolling a little more on sales for their systems. However, that won’t be happening at PAX East, as it has been announced that the gaming giant will not be showing up for the first time ever.
In the past, Nintendo has had some sort of booth or panel at every PAX East and most PAX Prime events, but that won’t be happening this year at all. Nintendo issued a statement for why they won’t be having a presence this year to Nintendo World Report.
Interacting directly with our fans and letting them play our games firsthand is a key component of our approach. That doesn’t include PAX East this year, but we will offer our fans a variety of opportunities to get their hands on Nintendo products in 2014. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more information about where we’ll be and what you can play.
Hopefully Nintendo will provide us with a new Nintendo Direct in April to make up for their lack of a presence at PAX East.
