Hideo Kojima has expressed some concern that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain might be too big for some gamers to finish.
He noted that Ground Zeroes is short, but offers a lot of replay value. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on the other hand sounds like it might be a very long game to complete even once.
Here’s what Kojima said during an interview with IGN:
The Phantom Pain has the risk that people won’t be able to finish the story as it will be more than 200x bigger than Ground Zeroes. I cannot disclose the amount of missions [in The Phantom Pain], but we’ll have a lot of missions in there.
Previous Metal Gear games haven’t been insanely long. It’s possible Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain could be as long as your average RPG game. Will it be 40 hours or longer?
