Ever since the success of the first Iron Man movie, Marvel has been on a roll with its in house movies that make up the Marvel cinematic movie universe. Even including a show like Marvel’s Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D., having one large interconnected universe is really neat and now Marvel would like to do something similar with games, according to Marvel’s Vice President of Games, TQ Jefferson.
You might have noticed that certain similarities and threads touch from one game to the next. Much like you see in publishing and film, we’re trying to build a gaming universe connected by common elements and narrative into a larger gaming initiative.
With comments like this, you kind of wonder if this is what led to the non-renewal of licensing agreements for a lot of old Marvel games in the last few months on digital download services like Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and Steam.
