When it was announced that Amazon had purchased Double Helix Games last month, many wondered where in the world that put the recently revived Killer Instinct. The first season isn’t even complete yet as it was just revealed that Fulgore will finally be released, along with the much awaited arcade mode and online lobbies, on April 9 from Double Helix. However, beyond that, it has been announced that Iron Galaxy Studios is taking over moving forward.
Iron Galaxy Studios is a relatively young developer, having only been founded in 2008. The developer actually made a pitch to work on the game when it was first making the rounds a few years ago, but they were too busy with Wreckateer at the time and Double Helix got the job. Luckily, Double Helix is helping with the transition by teaching Iron Galaxy studios the insides and outs of the game.
Look for the new title update for the game on April 9 that will bring Fulgore as paid DLC, as well as a free arcade mode and online lobbies.
