With the way things are right now between WWE and CM Punk, his chances appearing in WWE 2K15 look slimmer than ever before.
WWE had hoped CM Punk would have returned to the company in his hometown of Chicago for Raw. Not only did he not bother showing up, but he also refused to talk to anyone in the company about resolving the issue altogether.
CM Punk did however appear on “The Talking Dead” last Sunday which is located in Los Angeles. This left a sour taste to WWE Officials even though he appeared under his real name on the show as “Phil Brooks”.
Because of CM Punk’s non-WWE TV appearance, the company has started to distance themselves from him even further. They have now had to rewrite an animated Flinstones movie script because of his absence. Not to mention they didn’t even bother showing him facing up against Undertaker last year during a video package that aired on Raw. It appears CM Punk is getting the “Chris Benoit” treatment as it seems WWE wants to forget about his existence.
There is now no chance of him being at WrestleMania XXX, and his chances of being in WWE 2K15 right now look as slim as ever. With the game out possibly in October or November, 2K Sports usually finalizes the roster as early as April. It’s probably a safe bet WWE wouldn’t want him in the game either with the way things are going as of right now.
CM Punk it appears has moved on already. Along with his appearance on the The Talking Dead, he even recorded backing vocals to a punk song recently as well. He’s already thinking of possible other career options after spending 7 years wrestling in the WWE.
It’s unfortunate CM Punk left the company this year with WWE 2K15 debuting on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. It would have been cool to see him in the new game since the current-gen version’s graphics have remained the same for many years. Fans will only have to make rely on “CAW” version of him.
Hopefully in the near future, both parties will be able to set their differences aside and CM Punk’s legacy in WWE won’t be forgotten. Bret Hart managed to bury the hatchet after the “Montreal Incident” and fans have been able to play as him in many new WWE video games. Even Ultimate Warrior is back in WWE video games after making amends with Vince McMahon.
