For many years, fighting games have been a major part of gaming, especially in the competitive circuit, with plenty of events being held by different groups. However, Capcom and Twitch are coming together to provide what they are calling a year round fighting game league, which will be focused around Street Fighter.
This league will host events during the year, which will then culminate in a final showdown at the Capcom Cup this coming December.
The goal of the Capcom Pro Tour is to provide an infrastructure which helps support tournament organizers, while delivering increased production values, supplementary video content, and new opportunities for players, content creators and sponsors. The tour will focus solely on the Street Fighter IV series, with the early portion of the tour featuring Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, then transitioning to Ultra Street Fighter IV after it releases in June.
The events will of course be shown through Twitch as part of this partnership with Capcom. You can read more about this new fighting game league, as well as some of the event dates at the official website right here.
