The very highly publicized Titanfall beta was held last week, starting first as a closed beta by invitation only and later expanding to everyone before its end. During this short beta run, Respawn Entertainment has announced that the number of players reached around two million.
In an interview with Polygon, Respawn Entertainment’s Jon Shiring also says how important this beta was for testing the cloud computing technology on Xbox Live.
Forza used it a little bit, but they weren’t as reliant on it as we are. The game is completely reliant on it. If it’s down, nobody can play.
This is very impressive for such a short beta that lasted only about five or so days. I’m very curious to see how well this games does at launch, especially on Xbox One.
