As of right now, Sony has no plans to release an official PS4 and PS Vita bundle.
An official SKU has never been released, even though some overseas retailers have bundled the PS4 and PS Vita together.
Sony hardware exec John Keller explained why to Gamespot:
“We certainly would look at it. I think it’s an interesting proposition. You see movement of Vita with PS4 at that time of purchase, so I think we need to take a look [a PS4/PS Vita bundle].”
I like the idea personally of being able to put them together if not as a bundle but as a marketed experience point. So Vita we think fits very, very well as a companion device for the PS4. But, I stop there because I want to make sure Vita retains the beauty of what makes Vita Vita. And that’s that it’s got it’s own unique kind of bespoke games.”
The one reason that would be stopping Sony from bundling the two together is price. Advertising that a PS4 is only $399 is more price friendly for casual buyers. Some uninformed buyers might be turned off if they see a PS4/PS Vita bundle that is $599 or more.
