A trademark registered by Capcom for Devil May Cry has just been uncovered. The trademark was filed on Valentine’s Day, 2/14/2014, and has us all speculating what’s in store for the young demon slayer. As you may recall, Capcom rebooted the series with Ninja Theory‘s DmC: Devil May Cry, a game well-received by critics but not so much by long-time fans. This led to underwhelming sales and we thought that might just be the end for the reboot.
Now that this trademark has appeared, it has some believing that a sequel is in the works, despite the previous entry’s shortcomings. It may turn out to be a re-release containing all DLC or possibly a next-gen port in the same vein as the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, but for now we know very little. If Dante is planning to unholster Ebony and Ivory and start perforating demons again, we should be hearing about it very soon.
