Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z is the spinoff of the main Ninja Gaiden series that follows the adventures of Yaiba Kamikaze, who was nearly killed by main series star Ryu Hayabusa. This led to him having getting parts of his body replaced with mechanical parts, and now he is out to both stop a zombie outbreak and kill his nemesis Ryu Hayabusa. The game was originally slated for a March 4 release date, but that date has now been pushed back by two weeks to March 18.
While the game has been delayed, Dark Horse Comics launched the first of three comics based on the game through their digital service yesterday. These comics are used to fill in elements of the backstory that may not be covered in the main game. The three parts of the comic series will also be collected into a physical release that will be released at the same time as the main game.
Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z is now set for release on March 18 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
