After the mostly lackluster week of updates for Super Smash Bros. last week outside of a new assist trophy, Masahiro Sakurai has started this week off well with a major tease. As we already know, Subspace Emissary will not return in the upcoming Super Smash Bros., but that doesn’t mean we won’t see the return of something like Adventure Mode from Super Smash Bros. Melee.
In comes today’s new update in which Sakurai said the following on Miiverse about the above image from the Nintendo 3DS version of the game.
Pic of the day. Where am I……?? To be clear, the new Super Smash Bros. games do not feature a story mode like The Subspace Emissary.
While Sakurai doesn’t mention it, it does seem to hint at some sort of Adventure Mode, at least on the 3DS version, which is said to be more single player focused. Tomorrow could potentially be a big reveal as it is the 15th anniversary of the Super Smash Bros. series, so stay tuned to see if Sakurai chooses to use that date to give us a big announcement or not.
