With the very tough time that Nintendo has had in competing against Sony and Microsoft with the Nintendo Wii U, many have said that the company should go third-party with their games. However, Satoru Iwata has come out to say that Nintendo is not done with consoles.
A few days ago, Iwata discussed that Nintendo would be looking its business structure after misreading the market, but now he has dismissed the idea of leaving the console game.
The spread of smart devices does not spell the end of game consoles. It’s not that simple. It doesn’t mean that we should put Mario on smartphones.
Iwata goes further to say that they must find a way to get people’s attention through smartphones for them to try out their console games. Nintendo is currently doing more research and will be discussing the future later this month as a company.
