A little while ago we told you about a tease from Renegade Kid that said their fans with a Nintendo 3DS would be happy with an upcoming announcement. This was following even more recently by a trademark being found for Moon Chronicles, but we didn’t know if this was a follow-up or remake of the original. We now have that answer courtesy of the game’s official announcement from Renegade Kid.
Moon Chronicles will be an episodic game, with the first season being a remake of the original that is being built from the ground up. This means that the new game will be 60 fps and have the addition of 3D to it. The developer says that if the first season is successful, they will make a second that is a follow-up to the story of the original Moon.
The episodic nature doesn’t work quite like Telltale Games releases, where you can download a later episode first, but rather have to buy episode 1 followed by the others. The first episode will cost $8.99 for about four hours of game footage, including four chapters and six VR missions. The remaining three episodes will only cost $1.99 and provide about two hours of gameplay with four chapters each.
You can check out a comparison image below that shows off the difference between the original and now remake.
