HBO GO is the very useful app for HBO subscribers that allows you to watch content from past and present on a variety of platforms, including the Xbox 360. There has been talk of the app eventually making its way to the PlayStation 3, but nothing was ever confirmed.
Now, Kotaku’s internet sleuth Superannuation has found two CVs from two different websites, including LinkedIn, that makes it look like the app may finally be coming to Sony’s last generation console. Two two former HBO staffers specifically talk about preparing for the launch of the app on the PlayStation 3, so unless something has changed, you would think that the app would be coming quite soon.
The Kotaku article also mentions something that they found on the HBO GO website.
While combing through my cache for things left behind by a visit to the HBO GO website, I discovered an XML file on the site detailing supported devices for each service provider that repeatedly shows the following code in each list of supported devices:
PS
PlayStation
The app is supposed to be coming sometime soon to Xbox One as well, so you would assume that if it is really coming to PlayStation 3, that it would also come to PlayStation 4 after.
