In very disappointing news, as the year ended, some contracts ended between Activision and Marvel. This has led to the removal of pretty much every Marvel game on a digital download service, including Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam, that was licensed with Activision as of now.
Game Informer received confirmation from Activision that the following games have been removed, seemingly for good, for digital download: X-Men: The Official Game, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men Destiny, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, and Spider-Man: Edge of Time.
Activision’s community manager, Dan Amrich, took to Twitter to confirm the removal and that the sale last week was due to the upcoming removal. Too bad there could not have been more warning from Activision on this, but if you want these games now, all you can do is get the game from retail.
