Microsoft may have backtracked on its strict DRM policies, but this did not stop an Xbox One from ruining a Killer Instinct tournament.
FGCNN reports that a New York Killer Instinct tournament was interrupted when players were prompted to verify that they “own this game or app“. The issue was resolved in just four minutes when they connected their Xbox One consoles online.
Initially, players had to connect their Xbox One consoles online every 24 hours to verify each game they’re playing. Microsoft obviously reversed these decisions due to unpopular feedback.
