We brought you the news awhile back that a remastered version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 would be coming to Sega from iOS and Android soon. That date has almost arrived as the upgraded Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be releasing tomorrow, December 12, for iOS and Android platforms.
The big news today is not the release date, but the bonus content that will be coming with the game. Beyond a graphical upgrade and such, the game will be including the long sought after Hidden Palace Zone, a previously unfinished level found in the ROM of the game years ago. Hidden Palace Zone was originally created as a bonus level to test out the new Super Sonic after collecting all seven of the Chaos Emeralds. However, the level was scrapped during production and has never been fully playable officially until now.
For those that already own the original Sonic the Hedgehog for iOS, you will be able to upgrade to this version at no cost. This will be the first opportunity for Android users to play the game. Both versions will be available tomorrow.
