This week has been very good for fans that are anticipating the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, as each update has been worthwhile. We’ve seen a returning favorite character, a new stage unveiling, and dating back to last week, the announcement of a brand new character. Also this week, Masahiro Sakurai has seemingly unveiled a returning Assist Trophy in the form of Starfy.
Starfy is the star, pun very much intended, of The Legendary Starfy series who appeared as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where he took down opponents with his spin attack. Now, Sakurai chose to post an image with the caption “Pic of the day. Yellow characters.”
He didn’t specifically mention Starfy’s return, but he is front and center in the image and if he was playable, he would have received a full announcement.
