The Spike TV Video Game Awards have been around since 2003, with a name change this year to the VGX. These awards have most recently brought huge announcements such as Batman: Arkham City and the mysterious The Phantom Pain trailer last year. Now it appears that Nintendo may have something up their sleeve this year, according to a teaser on Gametrailers.
About a week and a half ago, Geoff Keighley tweeted that Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime would be making his first ever appearance at the renamed awards show this Friday night. That led to some speculation, but that fire has been further fueled by a new tease from Gametrailers today that said “We may be making an appearance. We may be doing something special. We’ll see.”
Many has speculated that Nintendo could show either a trailer for Legend of Zelda U or a new Super Smash Bros. trailer. Who knows, it could be something that blows our mind like a new Star Fox or Metroid, but that is likely just wishful thinking. We will have to tune in this Saturday night, December 7, at 6 pm ET to find out!

December 3, 2013 at 9:21 AMI swear if they announce Cranky Kong as a playable character, I will rage as loud as possible. StarFox, Metroid, or Zelda PLS. If it isn’t any of those, stay home, Reggie.
